Built on the belief that strength training is for everyone.
Thrive was born from years of 1-1 personal training. I kept noticing the same thing: individual coaching gets people real results, but a lot of people end up in big group classes where you're just lost in the crowd. Nobody's watching your form, you fall off the wagon, and results stall. The community side of those classes was great. The coaching wasn't.
So we built something in between.
Every member at Thrive follows their own personalised program, whether you're training for a wedding, coming back from an injury, pregnant or postnatal, brand new and a bit nervous, or chasing a competition. You train in your own bubble, in a small group of up to 5, with a coach who actually knows your goals and your program.
What's grown around the training is honestly the best part. It started as a home for expats who'd landed in Perth without their people, and pretty quickly we realised it wasn't just expats who needed that. A lot of women are looking for the same thing — somewhere they belong, people who notice when they turn up. That's what Thrive has become. A safe, non-intimidating space where women support each other and actually look forward to training.
One thing I believe strongly: most of the fear around the gym just comes down to nobody ever teaching you properly. So we teach as we coach, not just what to do but why you're doing it. That's what builds real confidence.
The coaches who make Thrive what it is.
From coaching on superyachts to working with competing athletes — a WA state bodybuilding title with a client, strength and nutrition coaching for boxers, footballers and Ironman triathletes — Áine's done the high performance side of this industry. Turns out her favourite part isn't any of that. It's getting to know each member properly and helping them get somewhere they didn't think they could. Qualified in PT, nutrition, wellness coaching, women's health, and pre & postnatal exercise.
Straight out of Dublin's coaching scene — where she led semi-private training and managed a busy gym — Emma brings serious experience wrapped in the bubbliest package at Thrive. Whether it's fixing your form or celebrating your PB louder than you do, she's all in. Qualified in personal training, nutrition coaching, women's health, and pre & postnatal exercise.
Morale, security and post-session cuddles. Thrive's most consistent team member, never misses a session.
